International Student Network Nijmegen is a student association which organizes all kinds of activities for the international exchange students who come to Radboud University Nijmegen. Twice a year, in August and in January, right before the start of the fall and spring semester respectively, ISN organizes orientation days, during which the newly arrived students can get to know each other, the university and the city of Nijmegen. During the orientation days groups of approximately 15 international students and two Dutch mentors will be formed. You can also sign up for a mentor group after the orientation days in case you arrive later. The mentor groups remain active after the orientation days: you will have frequent dinners together.
During the year several excursions to different cities in the Netherlands, Germany and Belgium are organized, as well as parties, cultural nights and other recreational activities. You can find the up-coming activities under Events. In order to participate in the activities and receive our news letters, you need to get yourself subscribed at the ISN organization. You can find the Subscription form under Subscribe at ISN.
To make a long story short; ISN is just trying to make your stay in Nijmegen as pleasant as possible!
We are students, just like you. We work as volunteers and we try to make your stay more comfortable after you have closed your study books. We are students from all faculties and studies, connected by our passion for travelling, foreign countries and foreign people. Many of us have already been abroad as an exchange student or have plans to do so.
ISN is divided into two different sections: ISN Activities and ISN Excursions. The first section, ISN Activities, takes care of all kinds of social events such as cultural nights, mentor dinners and activities. All the mentors are part of this section of ISN.
The second section, ISN Excursions, organizes excursions to different cities in The Netherlands, as well as to Brussels (B) and Aachen (D).
The ISN Board, leading these two sections, consists of three persons: one person from each section, and an external person who presides the board. The ISN board, together with the mentors, organizes the summer and winter orientation days. The board advices the ISN sections and regulates them.
ISN has its office in the Gymnasion building (in which the sport center is also located); room -1.290. You are more than welcome to visit us.
